The mission to unite women of God was conceptualized in 1991. Since that time the ministry has grown under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. On April 8, 1994, the first official meeting was held with several women who were committed to see women of God around the world unite for the cause of Christ. On April 14, 2006 (Passover), the Wailing Women Intercessors were activated as official prayer warriors for WOGU. Their primary task is to intercede continuously for all levels of governments, for Christian ministries, and for the leaders of these various entities.

Christian women around the world are challenged to join forces. Let us stand together as one in Christ Jesus. Together we stand, divided we fall!

The CALL for WOGU is to solidarity. This solidarity can be realized as women unite in the Spirit of God, leading lives worthy of the vocation to which God has called us (Ephesians 4:1-6).

The COMMITMENT for WOGU is for Christian women to lead faithful, dedicated, and Holy Spirit-filled lives of Christian service (Ephesians 4:11-13).

The CHALLENGE for WOGU is for Christian women to "stand firm" in the faith - recognizing, understanding, and developing our God-given abilities as we are nurtured to Christian maturity (Ephesians 6:10-20).

The VISION for Women of God United is to transform, unite, and spiritually strengthen women - through Christian discipleship - as we continually give of ourselves in the home, on the job, in the community and in the church.
